This is probably of more interest to fellow Brits.

Most Brits will be aware that in the 80,s and 90,s a great majority of UK Universities did not issue transcripts. I myself graduated in 1984 from Didsbury campus ( Manchester ) teacher training. Whilst the Uni is happy to confirm verification of graduation and will provide a letter confirming course content they cannot supply sealed transcripts signed by the almar mater ( registrar ) .

This is a problem as I know that the issuance of the E-2 visa is dependent on that requirement being met.

Having had some considerable email tennis with an International School in Seoul ( British curriculum ) they are aware of this difficulty but have stated that they are an organisation that are approved to have employees on the E-7 visa............which apparently does not require sealed transcripts.

Anyone else come across this? Just curious as before upping sticks and moving I want to make sure everything is above board ( I,m sure it is )

E7 would cover teachers of foreigners in a foreign school (usually requires licensing as a teacher in your home country) as well as other professionals in other professions (like engineers or scientists).

E2 is STRICTLY for teachers of a foreign language.

The requirements ARE different.

If in doubt, apply for the visa. IF it is approved, then move here. No visa in your passport = stay home and be happy.
