Clintons release tax returns

Quote:
Carson noted that the returns show the couple paid more than $33 million in federal taxes during that 8-year period and donated more than $10 million to various charities.

109 million dollars since 2000!

Man, I never realized how wealthy the Clintons are.

It's the cattle futures, man.

[OK. For the terminally unimaginative, google "hillary" and "cattle futures."]

rich people = republican

Even if they're running on a Democratic platform.

The main reason I have no interest in Senator Clinton is her husband. Bill Clinton was middle right at best. If Hillary wants to play the 'experience' card she subsumes that administration, and is therefore as much a Rep as Joey Boy and her hubs.

A vote for Clinton, or McCain, is a vote for business as usual.

When will the revolution come. I do an excellent barbecue, and I suspect that BBQ rich is delicious. They'll be flavored with foie gras and caviar.

A real class warrior, you are. Is this self-parody, or do you really believe this crap?

To be honest, Kuros old boy, I must admit a little bit of both. All of my posts are riddled with my unique, and generally as palatable to most as anchovies (I love anchovies. The Italians are right on that one.), sense of humor. It's good to see that we've had enough back and forth that I don't have to use the ridiculous Laughing to indicate a joke.

I am a touch of a commie though. And I do think that unfortunately class, or more specifically economic state and background, are the primary defining base characteristics of our lives. Honestly, I don't trust the rich as the old phrase goes 'absolute power corrupts absolutely' and there aren't very many Warren Buffets in the world.

I do think the difference, in terms of what they'll do to change the US, between McCain and Clinton is very slim. I "hope" that Obama will do more, but a lot of people felt the same way about President Bill Clinton and look how his administration turned out.

That's my eight cents.

No comeback, Kuros? I expected at least a "Bill wasn't that bad."

Clinton didn't have the winds of change behind his back. The Democrats were on the wane when he came into office. By 1994, he was facing a Republican majority in Congress. 2008 will be quite different.

I am not a Leftist on economics, so let me assure you some aspects about Hillary concern me. But Barack is almost as Leftist as her on economics, so there you have it.

Lastly, I don't think it matters a damn what assets the Clintons have. They made $100 million? Well, paid $40 million in taxes, and contributed another $10 million dollars. Plus, 80% of Bill's speaking engagements were pro bono. The man has done more good in his years out of office than I can hope to do in my entire life.

The Obama demand to release tax returns was ridiculous. The Clintons complied, and there is no impropriety. Obama: suck it.
