| i have a WD 120 gig external harddrive. i lost the cable that it came with and purchased a new one after a few weeks of looking. the new cable does not work. it powers the harddrive as i can hear it spinning up and the blue light is on, but it won't register as a new drive on my computer. it was working when i lost the cable and is only a few months old. did the harddrive crash or do i need a certain usb cable. i think the one i got is 5pin. |

| Did you try searching for the drive in the device manager? |
