This matter has been beaten to death; middle ground was found earlier in the day and the reasonable people have already found a solution.

Now some posters here have overdone it.

You went to far and pushed the matter to hard.

Now I say let's forget about any restrictions.

To those who want them- - get a life. This is just an internet board.

Get out. Talk to some real people. Pass over these threads.

Move to China.

I think the polls say that we are sick of the whiners and discussing the JFK assassination is not that bad of thing since many people would like to discuss the matter. Whiners-- it did not come out a resounding thumbs down like you anticipated. A LOT OF PEOPLE want to discuss it.

Considering the herd mentality here on this discussion board and in real life here in Korea to get 12 people to say they don't mind discussing this matter means you lose whiners.

We outvoted you 2-1 in that particular poll. Reality check.
. We win, you lose. Again reality check, you do not get to say no restrictions. That is a matter for the mods to decide.

By TUM's definition: freedom of speech applies only when the majority wants to hear it.

That sure sounds like the fascist-socialist definition of freedom.

I think it is remarkable that 12 people voted that it was okay to discuss that particular subject. Who would have expected that many ( 12) ?

In the end it isn't a majority as you rightly point out. It is the mods. And the fact 12 people WANT TO , will go along way in their decision.

There is a huge difference between discussing something and spamming the board with it.

If you create a thread and it dies, that should tell you that no one wants to discuss it. Creating new threads covering the exact same thing each and every time your thread dies is spamming. That's what regicide, an ID created for the specific task of discussing conspiracy theories related to the assassination of political figures and leaders, does.

"Spamming" does not equal "discussing." It's not a "Current Event" to discuss something that happened over 40 years ago over and over again. We get it. You saw "JFK." Move on.

How many of those 12 are socks though? Probably a fair bit, given that it is the same 4 or 5 people who regularly post in or start conspiracy threads.

Pig-12 people want to discuss the matter. Pass over the thread if it does not interest you. Regarding my screen name-- no deception there was there? I even mentioned my views in my application here.

TUM - - 12 people are twelve people , there are no socks. Get over that.

Addresses can be "hidden". For the technological inept this can be as simple as posting from a different computer (at work, at home, at a PC cafe...)

So you personally know all of these 12 people then and have met them all in real-life? After all to make the claim that none of them are socks, you'd have to have done that.

EDIT: I went back and looked at the thread. About five people posted in support of discussing the JFK assassination. And it's the same five in other threads. Where are these seven other people if as you say they feel so strongly about it?

Extrapolating from the number of users on Dave's now, with almost four times as many guests as registered members, we might estimate approximately 50 people are interested in hearing about this discussion.

...** puzzled ** but doesn't also, follow from your line of argument, that 100 or more people are not interested in having the JFK assassination discussed on this forum?

Now I'm the one that's ...** puzzled **. What, does everyone have to be interested in a topic here for it to be discussed? And if one is not interested in a topic, should he be allowed to prevent others from discussing it?
