Hi there,
I taught in Seoul for a year, had a great time, left for family reasons, want to come back, but not to teach - to work in the film industry. I am a screenwriter with no interest in Los Angeles.
My question is, is this possible? Do Korean film companies hire American's at all?
Please PM me if you can! Thanks in advance! |

Quickest way to tell if someone's a schmuck in Los Angeles.
"What do you do for a living?"
"I'm a screenwriter." |

Posting 'cause this might be of interest to others:
I'd get in touch with the guy who runs this site. He seems to have quite a bit of first-hand experience (as a foreigner) with the Korean film industry stuff. You can also contact KOFIC, the Korean Film Commission. They might be helpful.
If you're less interested in commercial film stuff, there's a facebook group of ex-pats looking to do 'indie' stuff together ( called "Independent Film Team Korea"). If you're interested in way left-of-centre arty stuff, Space Cell in Seoul is a great place to visit for experimenting with 16mm celluloid. |
