I have a Toshiba A60 with an ATI Mobility Radeon 7000 IGP video card. I finally got round to buying an S-video cable today and thought it would be really easy to set up. How wrong I was!
So, I connected it all up with the Red Yellow and White connections going into my TV. I went into the control panel - display - settings - advanced, but in the displays section, it doesn't recognize the TV.
At this point, I went online to see what I could find. It seems lots of people had the problem, but I couldn't really find a solution.
I tried pressing Fn+F5 and I got something on my TV that looks like my computer desktop, but it's got a major flicker (not at all watchable). Obviously something is getting through.
So then I tried downloading new drivers for the video card (Catalyst 6.5) but when I try to install them, an error message comes up saying "INF error - Video driver not found". If I've been using my computer for the past couple of years with no problems, surely I have drivers!?
This whole process took me 2 hours and I'm very tired of it (I don't know much about computers). One post on a tech forum suggested I should just buy a better quality cable, but I don't buy it. Is there an easy fix to this problem? |
