|
|
Hello!
I am coming to Korea in about 2 weeks and am wondering if I will be ok to bring prescription meds into the country? They are just for clearing skin, but the problem is the prescription is not in my name (long story). Will I have a problem with this? Would it be easier if I just put them in a advil bottle?
Thanks |

Bad idea. It's one thing to explain to Korea customs officials your medicine with someone else's name is for your own skin, but it's completely another thing to maintain such a claim when it's in an Advil bottle. You'll be fine if you leave it in its original packaging. Put it in your checked luggage. |

I brought a number of prescription drugs into Korea. So far as I've ever seen, Korean immigration, at the airport, doesn't look in suitcases. I saw no sniffing dogs, no searches, etc, and I've been in and out several times. |

best place is in your front pocket. make sure there is no metal in those pills and you'll be OK unless your name is moe-ham-head and you look nervous....

You could swallow the pills in a series of sealed condoms or simply shove them in your anus. |

I would seek information from a more reliable source than this board on to answer your questions. I am sure people bring prescription drugs into Korea that they shouldn't and get away with it but it wouldn't take much effort to send an e-mail to find out how to do it the right way for your prescription meds.
I don't know how current this info is but you could start with this.

A bad idea all around if they ever got the idea in their head to inspect your bags on arrival. How would you explain they are prescription when they are not in a prescription bottle. I tlook slike you're trying to hide something.
I've brought in 1-year to 2-year supplies of my thyroid meds without problem. I had my doctor's handwritten prescription in my pocket in case there was ever any suspicion about the meds. Never needed it, though.
If Korea had the meds available in the right dosages, I wouldn't need to import them in the frst place. |

Why would Korean Immigration know anything about prescription bottles? They certainly aren't used here.. PHARMACiSTS don't even recognize western prescription bottles as such.. |

You could also have someone mail them to you if you are nervous to bring them in your luggage. |
