I'm in Anseong, which if you look on a map is in the Southernmost part of Gyeonggi. For about a week, I had a worsening tonsil and nasal infection, so I finally broke down and saw a doctor. The doctor spoke almost no English, barely looked at me, and gave me a whole bag of medicine. Three days after taking the medicine, my tonsil/nasal infection is exactly as bad as it was a few days ago, AND I've had the shits for two days. Does anyone know of an international clinic or a doctor that speaks decent English closer than Seoul, Ideally in Pyeongtaek or Cheonan? (I hold out little hope that Anseong has any foreigner friendly facilities, but if someone wants to prove me wrong....)

If at first you don't succeed...

A lot doctors here went abroad to attend medical school then they returned here once they finished their studies. There is bound to be another doctor in your area who you can communicate with more easily, who would be more than happy to help you, it would be good as well because he/she would be able to practice their English.

I'm in Janghowon but I were you I would go to Icheon or Yong In. In Icheon, you'll probably be able to find someone at a hospital who speaks some English.

Well, I know I can get to Yongin in about 40 minutes..... I'll look up Icheon on a map too.

Might be worth trying another doctor, although I only know of one municipal hospital in the area. I'm also weighing the option of going back with a Korean friend who can explain in no uncertain terms--- "no, it didn't WORK".
