What's the deal with those expensive beds with a marble mattress? Do people sleep right on that or is a mattress put on top of it?

What floor do you live on Molly? If you get one, take some pics of them lugging it up there! Shocked

Looks like they use a futon on them

I have seen these in America.

Apparenlty, they are supposed to be really good for your health and your back. (according to the salemen). Bloody expensive, $3000 USD.

Anyways, I was curious enough to inquire so he told me that mostly old people bought them and it's really comfortable (I didn't believe him).

My other guess is that it has something to do with heat. Just by the sheer fact that it's a stone that can absorb heat well or dissapate it.

Those are beautiful, but I would get a marble floor and tables before a bed. I always dreamed of having a nice stone rustic English country side style house with marble floors and tables, a cozy fire place, and a big kitchen with a granite counter top island. And access to a great super market to supply this kitchen with top notch fresh ingredients. This house that could include a marble bed will be on a few hundred acres with both a small lake and trout stream. And a rustic hunting lodge cabin out back some place for me and my buddies to hang out and drink beer while the woman tends house. Sounds like a great plan doesn't it? This is an old out dated 16th century idea on how to live. Things just don't work like that today with the women having gone to work and on their own like men.

I can't see why you'd get a marble bed to cover up with a mat or mattress, unless you have deep pockets where you can splurge on thousands of things to accent your dream home. A lot of those old farts have a lot more than we'll probably ever see.
