I got a final statement from my boss, but he adds my housing allowance and all. Anyway, I need to send something to an accountant in the U.S. How would he make sense of what I've got here in front of me.
Your help would be appreciated...

I filed 7 years' worth of late returns in one envelope a couple years ago.
I was fairly meticulous about my calculations and estimates.
There was a link off the irs website with archived average annual exchange rates.
You can't send W-2s since you likely have none. Unless you made over the $70K or whatever it is now, a fair and proper estimate is all you need.
I still have what little income documentation I did receive, just in case.

Thanks for the reminder, anyway.

I'm not sure what your question is. Your housing allowance is part of your
income for US tax purposes if you are just a regular E2 English teacher.

So, what do I send the accountant. Don't I need some kind of proof of income. What does a Korean statement tell someone from the IRS?
What do I need to give to the IRS? That is what I was asking.

Don't give anything to the IRS (they are criminals). Give them no money, no statements, no nothing. I hav not earned USD in 10 years and have given nothing to them since then. Follow course and do likewise...

Adventurer,

Have you made $80k this year? That's the exemption you're allowed for overseas income. If you've made less than $80k you owe nothing, but you need to file that exemption on your form.

All right, I made less than 80 K, but what form should I fill out, what procedure should I go through, and where can I get said forms.

Thanks, Kuros... I need to send something off soon....

Don't file any forms. You haven't earned squat in the USA, screw the IRS. Bloody leeches they are! Mad

Here are the forms:

http://www.irs.gov/formspubs/lists/0,,id=97817,00.html

You'll need the 2007 Form 1040 U.S. Individual Income Tax Return

and the 2007 2555-EZ Foreign Earned Income Exclusion

You can also download (and print) the instructions for both too.
