Hi--I resigned 5 months early from a school in March and the school has not cancelled my visa---I am here looking for work, but concerned that the school will finally notify immigration that my last day was in March---if they do that, will I have any issues at immigration? I heard your only allowed 14 days to be here in Korea after your last day, and then you get nailed at immigration with hefty fines if you do not leave within those 14 days--Thanks!

They are required to report your early termination within 2 weeks of your quitting. They MAY be in a bit of trouble for not reporting your quitting as required.

If they report your last day accurately (this is NOT backdating anything) then you will be in an overstay position.

YOU were required to depart the country within the appropriate time frame after quitting.

If you are also working (against your status of sojourn) you are in even more hot water.

Get thee to immigration, report your own termination of employment, take your exit order (by doing it this way you probably won't get anything more than a lecture) and hope the event doesn't bite you in the azz.

No good will come of waiting.
