So, I found out last night that my sister is getting married, planned for early next summer. Originally my plan was to take a contract starting in August and stay for 12 months. Unfortunately, this is no longer a possibility with my sisters impending nuptials.
Does anybody know anything about working for places on a month to month contract? Alternatively... contracts that are maybe 9 months?
Thanks! |

As a newbie coming from overseas, the chances are slim at best. If you weren't looking for round-trip airfare it may still be possible or at least slightly better than "slim to none".
If you were here and available with documentation in hand AND had a previous E2 (so you could do a simple visa run) it might be different.
Good luck.

Thanks. There's a possibility she might bump her wedding to late summer '09 or fall '09 in which case it's all a-ok.
I ended up finding some search terms that actually helped and they suggested that after 6 months you can pretty much leave as long as you're willing to pay your flight home and go without your pension.
I might be willing to do that if I'm making enough money over there. |

if you're canadian, pay your own way, work where you want and go home when you want. 90 day visa
canadians are Americans on F-2s, but they don't have the money or know-how to navigate this world without a hagwon or PS job..... pitiful |
