Damn! I hate looking for jobs. The funny thing is that I guess I was seeing the writing on the wall, and I was browsing around for a university job. But now I'll be free by December 13, which is a little too soon for the beginning of spring term. I'm not too worried about finding something, but I was hoping to get away from hagwons, for better or worse.
Any thoughts or advice about finding a quality job that has decent materials (unlike my current school) and older (middle school or older) students? Anybody know of a university that has suffered from someone doing a midnight run?

This is the best time to be unemployed.. look on the job boards.. I saw a 3-month camp where you teach by riding trains with kids around Korea (I would LOVE that).. another ski camp.. sheesh, camps are abound everywhere and having done one.. they are fun!!

In addition I'm seeing alot of university jobs out there as well for the next semester.. seems like now is a great time to be unemployed.

Unfortunately I'm done April 14th which means I can't do either one.. I'd say you are out of your current job a the best time possible. Plus once you get it all setup.. (camps in particular) and applying to universities.. you could take off to southeast asia for a month or so.. Wink would be fun!

Thad does sound cool! Why were these things not around when I was single?!?!? I would have loved to take 3 months off to go explore Korea! Actually getting PAID to do it would have added to the coolness factor by 100!!

Did you have to share a room with the kids. I did that once, it sucked.

That would seriously suck. Fortunately I've never had that.

Come on you guys, really, I'm laid off. I have no job, and no plane ticket back home. The winter camp idea is good. Does anyone else have a good idea?

Okay tiger beer.... link me to that gig. Sounds great.

I saw tons of jobs and camps on eslcafe.com/jobs and english spectrum.

There was even some cool fulltime one-year jobs.. including one that teaches writing in Seoul from 4-9pm for some good money!! 2.4 i think possible to go up to 3.-something..

Too many good jobs out there.. check out the job boards.. I was just curious to see if my old camp is there.. but so many other even more interesting stuff.

I love my current job.. but I seriously wish I was available to jump on a small handful of pretty interesting stuff.. check 'em out on the job boards.. you'll like what you see..

Okay, I'll chill,.... but I did lose my job today. Your suggestion rocks, ...but I am a long way from home, Toto. Know what I mean?
That is I'm asking for suggestions and help.
Thanks.

Jesus stop whining, I'm sorry you lost your job, but see that link at the top of the page that says Korean Jobs?!

I'd be amazed if you don't have a job in a week.
