Ok, here's my story in a nutshell. I was in Cambodia a month ago and had quite a bad road accident (I was on a bicycle, got hit by a motorbike). Anyway, everything was made worse by the fact that I had no travel insurance and couldn't afford to stay in the hospital for too long, so I checked myself out in a lot of pain and went to a sweaty little guesthouse to wait for my flight back to Korea. I had more than one week to wait and was miserable, as you can imagine.
Anyway, to cut a long story short, I got online to see what I could do (with little hope since my ticket was booked on a Korean website) and started chatting to a travel agent in Korea who I had used last year and had his hotmail msn address. Basically, he saved me from a week of hell - he helped change my tickets by making calls to the online agency I'd used (all in Korean so I couldn't do it) and somehow managed to change my ticket free of charge - for the very next day! And the most amazing thing is, he didn't benefit whatsoever, because I hadn't even booked through him initially. Anyway, I was so impressed I thought I'd post his details up here, kind of karma I think. All my experiences with him have been positive and he is far more helpful than anyone else I've dealt with in Korea. I've booked through him about 5 times now and each time was really satisfied. He's just opened a new shop and here are his details. Ah, actually I just talked to him and he said he doesn't mind chatting to his customers via gmail/hotmail chat, much easier for people that can't make it to his office, or only have pay-per-minute cellphones.....
His name is Sancho (yes, he's Korean but speaks English and has a Spanish name)

Good for him. I'm glad you were able to get some help.
FWIW, here's a link to the travel insurance provider I've started using. I found about this through a post in the Travel section.

I also booked a ticket through Sancho when I left Korea a few years ago. He was super helpful and offered excellent service.
Thanks for posting his details, as I seem to have lost his card.
I lived in Gumi and also gave very short notice as to when I would need to travel, so I deposited the money to his account and he had one of the staff waiting for me at the airport to hand over my ticket.
Definitely recommend Sancho |

Where is he located exactly?
This is good info - I try to keep a list of helpful English-speaking service providers in Korea for when I need to arrange something like travel, medical care etc (so far it's a pretty short list...) |

unless you need to drop of a passport for a visa, its actually just easier to talk to him on the phone/email/messenger since his English is good.
But otherwise, he's located behind city hall in kwanghwamoon, central seoul. |

I too am on the Sancho bandwagon. After reading the first post in this thread, I emailed him with a list of five places my wife and I had considered for a holiday in June. Within a few hours he had sent me flight info and prices for all of them. A few days and a few emails later, I am very satisfied with his service, and have some tickets for a five day, three nap per day, beach holiday. |
