I don't know if we can get them to do it, but I posted the idea on their site. Maybe Discovery Channel's Myth Busters would take on the idea of Fan Death.

Maybe if enough of us register and post on the site, they'll do it?

What the heck. . .

I posted it a couple years ago. The people there seemed much more interested in discussing the myths related to samurai swords.

Does anyone know of a good link to post there? Such as a funny video to make their mouths water at the myth?

I don't know about videos, but there is a wikipedia entry on fan death.

Here's a link to the thread itself:

Don't get your hopes up.

I posted a ton of videos and links there a few months back, along with detailed descriptions etc.

Then I searched on their site and saw that I was nowhere near the first person to mention it. It seems that fan death, for one reason or another, isn't an acceptable myth to bust.

I'd say probably most of their target audience is completely unaware of the existence of "fan death". I'd certainly never heard of it until I came to Korea.

Years ago the show had an email address that you could send stuff to. I emailed them back in like 2005 but heard nothing.

It really does rile up people in other countries though. I've seen a lot of very raucous discussions on message boards about it.

I'd speculate something more along the lines of difficulty to test...
Nature of the beast I suppose.

Actually, it was tested by KBS last year. They discovered that sleeping with a fan on is beneficial--increases oxygen intake, stimulates deeper sleep.

All Mythbusters would have to prove is that you can sleep with a fan on without dying.

I thought Fandeath was the name of a famous Rock & Roll cover band?

I know it isn't of course, but imagine if fan death was real and they tested it on that show? Oh, the lawsuits!
