Hey I need to get a Korean police record check so that I can do my practicums for Ontario teacher's college next year. If anyone can shed some light onto how to do this, and if it is a headache as well as how long it takes i'd be extremely grateful!

It is usually done in a day (often while you wait).
Local Requests in Korea:
Koreans and Non-Koreans should visit their nearest police station and request a Criminal History Information Record (CHIR) [Bumjoi Gyung-ryuck Jaryo Hoibo-seo; 범죄 경력 자료 회보서]. One has to bring an ID such as a passport or an alien registration card in person. The Namdaemoon police station (Scientific Investigation Team tel: 02-777-0795) provides the service within a day, but the processing time could be different depending on the police station you contact. There is no fee for the service.
Go to your local GU police station. The local police boxes / dong stations won't do it. |

Hey thanks that is exactly the info I was looking for. So I have a little station right near my apartment in Bucheon, but you are saying i'll have to go to the main police station in Bucheon as the smaller offices won't do it?
Thanks again |
