| I'd like to get up to Northern Japan (Aomori, Hirosaki City) soon to view some cherry blossoms in the big and righteous park they got there. How might I get there on the cheap? I've heard rumors of a super cheap overnight ferry but don't know anything for certain. |

You can fly from Incheon direct to Aomori (or Sapporo) for not much more than Tokyo or Osaka. The frequencies may be less however.
If it were me I would check the Incheon airport flight board:
http://www.airport.kr/eng/airport/
Then just select a flight that was at the right time.
As I understand there is no fast ferry from Korea to northern Japan, the slow ferries take a lengthy period of time, so it would rarely be practical for the average person.
(Going on the fast ferry Busan-Fukuoka would probably not be practical due to the long distance involved in getting to the north island from Fukuoka). |
