I finished a contract where I had an E-2 a couple of months ago, came home for some rest and relaxation, and have just lined up a job that will start in August. For this job, I'll have an E-7 visa.

I'm wondering, will I need a letter of release from my former employer for immi? Or does it matter, since there will be about a five month gap between the contracts and they're two different visa types anyway?

As long as the previous visa /ARC has expired there is no need for anything other than a new visa application.

Enjoy the new job.

I changed to an E-7 after having an E-2. Very simple, a few papers to sign, a visa run to Fukuoka, and voila! Not sure of right now, but as of last November when I did it, there was no health exam nor need of Criminal Record Check.

Thanks, guys! I figured as much but thought I'd check with you folks on the forum, since I find you generally know more than the Korean embassy does. Wink
