Just down the block from Mike's Cabin, about 5 minutes walk behind Hyundai Dept. Store in Sinchon is a new Indian restaurant called Manokamana. It's on the same side as Mike's, and on the second floor.

Went there and got a curry and naan. Was authentic, lovely atmosphere, and quite inexpensive! 8,000 for a curry! The naan was massive, about arms-length and very nice.

I'm posting this because I live close by and I don't want it to go out of business. Smile

I just checked out the menu, it looks great.

Can you give directions from Sinchon station?

Oh, thank god. It was such a bitch making the trek to Hannam whenever I wanted Indian. Thanks for the heads up!

There are three in 이대.

The first one has a tikki theme and decent food, but no basmati rice (dumb bastards) and is, if you're standing with you back to Starbucks, in the alley across across the street to your right, down a very little bit and up on the second floor of a building on your left.

The second one is owned by some guys from Russia or Uzbekistan and is really good but the service is all kinds of slow (from a living in Korea point of view, anyway). From 이대 station walk towards the university and take the first right and walk up the little hill a ways, and on your right you'll find it.

The newest one (just two or three weeks) is the best but the most difficult to find. This is their second location (the first one is in 부천 or 분당 or something). The easiest way I can describe to get to it is to follow the instructions for tikki one but keep going and take your first left and then your first right and walk down the street. It's on the second floor of a building on your left and it's near the Julianna nightclub (the Julianna nightclub has two entrances, so if it's not near the one, it's near the other).

Directions to Manokamana from Sinchon Station:

Go straight out exit 2. Walking toward Yonsei University for about 5 minutes. Take the last possible left before the Yonsei T-intersection (There's a pharmacy on the corner where you should turn left, and across the street on your right you'll see a large church). When you turn left down that street, go a block and a half. It's across from a GS25, second floor. If you come to Mike's Cabin you've gone too far.

Good luck!

FYI-We've been working on our wiki content for the Sinchon nightlife area of late and the restaurants there.

Here are some photos, info and directions to Manokamana.

I'm going to try and track down those Edae places that Beaver mentioned, this weekend.

I tried the place. Food is good. Naan is wonderful. Lame service.Slightly overpriced when compard to the Itawon Indian joints. But serving Indian food with the standard Korean style white rice just ruins the Indian dining experience for me.

I tried it and liked it alot. Two people can eat quite well for just over 20k. They have a set with two drinks, tandoori chicken, curry, rice and nan for 22k... not a bad deal, especially compared to the other Indian places I've frequented in Korea.

I went there last Friday and really enjoyed it. The service is poor, but the food is great.

I don't think so. We went on a Sunday evening and there wasn't one. I don't really think the place is even big enough to have a buffet set up.
