I want to take a lot of soju back to the US. I'm flying United. I was thinking about buying a case of the Soju in the small box carton. will I be able to take it with me? Does it have to be in my suitcase or carryon? |

In your checked baggage, like any other liquid.
I think there's a limit to the amount of alcohol you can bring into the country. I remember it being 2 bottles for liquor, but I don't know how they'll calculate boxes. |

Generally it is by volume, and they will generally (Australia, India, Cambodia, Korea) wave you through if you declare it.

You will have to put it in your checkin luggage. Roll a tshirt/pants/towel around each individual bottle and all will be honky dory. If customs stop you back home all they can do is:
1 - You pay the duty.
OR
2 - You surrender the soju.
So just surrender the soju.
BTW: You can only take 100ml containers of liquid of anything on the plane as hand luggage this includes toothpaste/shampoo/gel/hand cream etc... |

Next time you go through the security at Incheon look for several large bins on the floor.
They are always filled with soju bottles, confiscated from adjushies. |

I've gone to the States with a case of the juice box soju. I had 25 or so 6-8oz containers in my checked luggage. I didn't declare it however. |

I would suggest a combination of buying before you go and putting it in your checked bag and if you really need some more buy it in the duty free where they seal it in a clear duty free bag to allow you to take it in your carry on bag. |
