No. From what I've read, your carrier would need a roaming partnership with a carrier in Korea.
Even if you COULD use it here, you would be paying insanely high rates. Sending email requires you to use the data network, and I would imagine data roaming rates are sky high. |

First off, you'd need a Blackberry with a 3G chipset. Most in the US are GSM/EDGE or CDMA/EVDO, neither of which will work in Korea. Second, as pkang noted, your provider would have to have a data roaming agreement with a Korean provider. Third, as pkang also noted, international data roaming is going to be extremely expensive.
All that being said, a friend of mine was visiting Korea from the U.S. last week and his Blackberry worked fine. But he had to trade out his usual one for a 3G before his trip. I couldn't tell you anything about the cost (nor could he, for that matterhis is provided by his firm, and they handle everything including the 3G loaner). |

| Since I can't use my blackberry, perhaps I will just use my T-mobile dash smartphone which I can use to connect to the internet to check my email 5 times a day. Is gprs expensive in Seoul? Are you charged per minute or per kb of data? ideally I should buy a gprs package which will allow me unlimited surfing. |
