Ok so for my sins im from U.K. Im new to korea and didnt bring enough shirts with me for work. I plan on investing in some this evening from lottemart.
problem is that i dont know which size is right for me, all the shirts are in plastic packaging, so it would be difficult to take them out. Trying to explain/ask a korean would be worse than talking to a lampost.
Can anyone help me out, or explain their system for clothes. Im a size 15.5 collar uk.

That is not easy. I know I wear a size 105 Korean size and Medium American size. If you are beyond medium you will have to try the over 105 size. I would think 105 would work for you. I believe 15.5 is medium. |

Hamilton Shirts in Itaewon is where I go.
Prices are fair, the shirts fit well, and they deliver.
You can find them right across from the Hamilton Hotel.
I find the packaged dress shirts here too small in the arms |

hmmm, no idear, too working class to shop at m and s im afriad. Like i say id just take a size 15.5 collar shirt from the likes of tescos, asda etc and the rest usually falls into place.
Id be a medium size for a t shirt, though shirts need to be a more precise fit.
I assume koreans use collar sizes too |

Size 105 would do for you, then. You can buy shirts at a Costco if you have a membership or go to Giordano's near Ehwa Station on the greenline. I am going to have to buy another dress shirt for myself this weekend and go to Giordano's and buy myself another pair of slacks next month. I bought a pair of Italian-made slacks at Costco. They cost me 59,000 won. Slacks at Giordano's cost about 40,000 won. |

I had the same problem when I arrived. I just picked up a cheap shirt at the biggest size (110) and tried it on at home. It didn't work out as well as I had hoped so I went and had some tailor made in Itaewon.
A few months later, after the amazing Kimchi-shits had ensured that food was never in my body long enough to be digested, I tried the shirt again. It fits ok, though the cut feels wierd, so now I know I can buy Korean sized clothes if I need to.
A 105 will probably be ok on you - I was a 17" neck when I arrived and the 110 was a little too small for me. Buy a cheap one and cheap one and use it as a size guide, and then go buy some nice ones once you know the size
Oh.. FYI... I think the Korean sizes are chest sizes in centimeters. If you know your UK chest size (inches), just multiply by 2.5 and add to avoid the spray on effect so popular in this country |

| If you're not fat, just average size for a westerner, 100 is the way to go for summer shirts and 105 for winter (sleeve length). 105 is a bit baggy if you're not more to the hefty side, but that's better than your sleeve coming 2/3 of the way up to your elbow when you're writing on the board. Lotte is a rip-off, though. You can find the same shirts they sell for a fraction the cost at discount liquidators. |

I don't really think 105 is hefty. I am not a big guy. I am average and wear medium, so it works fine on me. |

| I can wear 110 but they are SO much harder to find then 105. Although Indian usually has some. Indian is a VERY expensive store. They had a shirt for 55,000 won. Who buys an off the rack dress shirt for 55,000 won? |
