So my situation is that the school will have three weeks of Summer Classes, which im sure ill be doing, and then the school will be closed for 12 days.

Summer Classes
July 21 - Aug 08

School Closed
Aug 09 - Aug 20

New term begins
Aug 21

So if the school is closed does that count as my vacation or not? I mean the contract says 7 working days in the summer so im a little confused about it.

Thanks a lot for your feedback.

Here is what my contract says

Quote:
Article 14 (Paid Leave)

① Employee shall be entitled to a vacation period of a total of fourteen (14) workdays during the Term of the Employment set forth in Article 5 hereof. Employees working in a school system shall take the leave up to seven workdays during the summer and winter recess respectively. If the requested vacation period interferes with smooth work operations, employer/employee shall negotiate alternate vacation dates.

② Employee shall apply for and obtain Employer's consent to take a leave at least fifteen (15) days in advance. Saturday and Sunday do not count as vacation days. If Employee renews the contract, up to 7 days of unused yearly paid leave may be rolled over to the new contract period. This carried over paid leave should be used up first in the new contract period. It may not be rolled over into the subsequent contract period.

③ During school vacations, Employee may be asked to participate in special classes or English camps, up to 20 hours per week with no class instruction

August 9-20 is only 7 working days.

It would almost be safe to assume that is your vacation time as well.

Confirm it with your co-teacher and book your flight while you can. Seats will disappear quickly.
