I am just beginning to learn Korean, and I thought one way that might help would be to listen to Korean music. Can anyone recommend any decent bands/songs that have lyrics that are relatively easy to understand? I'd prefer rock, but anything that's not too sappy will do.

Thanks

1. 사랑을할커야

2. 사랑의미로

3. 그대그리고나

I have found these to be nice songs and easy to follow on a singalong machine.

Might be too sappy for you, but if you like "She-Bop" by Cyndi Lauper then you'll like the 2000 Korean copy by Wax (왁스) called "Oppa" (오빠). Even if you don't, it's become a Korean classic, and it's difficult not to hear it on the streets sooner or later.

I provide a detailed translation and explanation of all the words and grammar in it on my blog in the link below:

Also, although Mithridates didn't mention it above, on his Cyworld site he has a bunch of songs by Jaurim (who are awesome) with translations of their lyrics.

He should post a link to his website. Actually I think it is just cyworld.co.kr/mithridates if I remember rightly. Then you have to choose the right area to get to his Korean language lessons.. but it's easy enough to find.

Jaurim are about my favorite Korean band, and it was thanks to Mithridates that I got interested in them =) Thanks dude.
