A friend working in a hagwon noticed a discrepancy between the "international" and "Korean" versions of a textbook. He passed this along. Eye-opening, isn't it?

So they put Korean-looking kids instead of Black kids...what's the problem? Doesn't changing a book to fit the local culture seem logical and reasonable to you?

The thing that irked me was that they changed the Asian receptionist to white.
Why not just leave her Asian and change the black kid?

The editions are five years apart. Perhaps for the 2003 edition they added some more colour?
