about 215kg. The way I improved my deadlift was taught to me by a friend. Instead of thinking of it as a pulling exercise like most people do, think of it as a pushing movement. Explode and push hard with your ass cheeks and quads, then just use your back and trap to ease the weight up. Try it, you'll be surprised how much stronger you feel when you really put your legs into the movement. |

Going to try that one of these days; am dieting now and doing HST so training to failure isn't something I can indulge in too often. Good tip though. |

I think it's good to do a 1 rep max about once a month. Definitely go over/under with your hands and strap up. Really dig in hard with the glutes/quads and you'll be amazed. |

Standard, not straight legged, right down to floor..146 X 5.
Last week I was able to do 130X5 with no straps.I'd like to increase my grip strength.
I'm doing HST now. This week is for deconditioning...severe back spasms coincided with my week off.
Thankfully, a visit to the Korean traditional doctor cleared up the spasms.

I have nop clue.. But I can lug around 115 kg guy and do about 20 spring squats. I kickbox there is no point in carrying around extra muscle that doesn;t benefit me in the sport. |

My highest has been 495lbs x 5 @ 19 years old. At the time I was pushing 225lbs bodyweight.
I quit training the deadlift when I got more into MMA. I still do lower back work, but more explosive lifts like swings, snatches, and powercleans. I also dropped some weight.
Here's a pic of my back while I was in Thailand at 20 years old. I still had the "Deadlift traps." I've now slimmed to 190 for wrestling and judo.

Nobody should care. Everybody is different, with different body styles. Some people train in different ways for different things (such as sports). And in the end, I absolutely hate people who feel the need to compare idiotic things like this. I don't weigh myself nor do I care how much I can lift. I go to stay healthy and active.
On another note, I hate Koreans who watch me on a machine, sit down on it immediately after me and pump up the weight one and nearly kill themselves trying to better me. Stupid idiots. Also, apparently a lot of people in this country believe using as much momentum as possible and not focusing on the target muscle is a good thing |

That's fine, it depends on one's training goals. I don't even have "target muscles" while training, I have target movements--learning to express power (explosive strength) through a certain type of movement is okay depending on the athlete's goals.

Up until a few months ago I was doing 140kg (three 20kg plates on each side, plus the bar) for 10 reps.
Lately though I've been focusing on bodyweight exercises like pullups, dips, handstand pushups, one legged squats, etcetera, and now I can only do 100 kg for 15 reps (two plates on each side). |
