I've tried searching this forum, but... #@*%... enough said about the search function. The former occupant of my apartment left me a pile of clothes... mostly in pretty decent shape still. I feel guilty just throwing it all in the trash when there are organizations that will distribute the stuff to those who need it. The problem is that I don't know where I can drop this stuff off or who I should call.

Any help would be great. I live in Gangseo-gu near Gimpo Airport if that's any help.

Google your search term, and include the term site:forums.eslcafe.com

Koreans don't buy used clothes. It's beneath them. Instead, they will offer you their used clothes.

at this place: http://www.beautifulstore.org/english/index.asp
i've seen one branch near Hankuk Uni, there must be others somewhere else.
They sell 2nd-hand good and clothes. I like their ideas: The Beautiful Store is unique among Korean organizations in that it uses all of its profit for charity and public benefit while propagating a culture of recycling.

That's exactly what I was looking for. I did eventually find the store's website, but I couldn't for the life of me remember the name of the store. Thanks for the help.

Just had a peek at your past posts. You seem to have a lot of negativity in you. Replace "Koreans" in your post with any other nationality, and what you said would still be accurate for a portion of any population. Korea's no different from any other nation... there are rich and poor. The poor aren't going to go out and buy brand new clothes whenever they want or need to, so passing on some decent clothes that would otherwise go into the trash isn't so bad, is it?

Big thanks to those who pmed as well. I appreciate the help.

you don't have to make the trek to the beautiful store. There are usually huge mailbox looking things for clothes and bedding donations near elementary schools and in apartment complexes.

peppermint is right: my apartment building also has a dedicated bin for clothes and bedding: it goes to orphanages and homes for the disabled, from what I understand
