I was wondering if anyone could help me out on a decision I need to make. The week after next, our middle school (in Busan) will be having their year end trips.
I have 3 choices to make...
1) Trip to Kyeong Ju - 1 night 2 days
This trip is with the 1st grade students. We will go see the temples and tombs, climb a mountain and do some other things that are in Kyoung Ju.
2) Trip to Kangwon do 1 night 2 days
This is with the 2nd Grade Students. We will go see the most famous Temple in Korea (I forget the name) then go to East Sea and have a picnic .
3) Trip to Seoul - 2 Nights 3 Days
This is with the 3rd Grade Students. We will leave at 6:30am and head to Seoul. Then visit Lotte World and the some kind of Palace in Seoul. Day 2 involves going to the Blue House and then to some Island and staying overnight. One the 3rd day we will visit that famous temple near Kangwon Do (?) and return around 6:30pm
I should note that if I take the Option number 1 or 2, I won't get that extra day off. I would have to teach on Wednesday (although it would be only 1 class in the morning). Also the student numbers are all pretty equal. There will be 7 or 8 busloads of students for each trip.
There is also the option of going on none of the trips, although I can't see that impressing all the other teachers and Principals who are going. Being the only Foreign Teacher and all
Any thoughts? I would especially like to hear from other middle school teachers. Although anyone is more than welcome to reply. |

Do you teach ALL the students? I would take trip #3 if I was you. The reason is if you stay at your middle school, those students will be gone in a couple months, so why not make some memories for them before they go?
That is assuming you teach them...it would be awkward to go with students who don't know you.
If you only teach one grade - well...go with what your gut says. |

Thanks, I should have mentioned that.
I teach each 1st grade student once a week, 3rd grade students, once a week, and some 2nd grade students in some special classes. |
