OK, so i have my ticket booked for late july, early august.
I dont really know much about the places and am basically just winging it while there, but i'll be about a week or so in each. From experience, does anyone have any suggestions for some things that I shouldnt miss while i'm there?
Thanks |

I've been to both cities several times. What are the main things you are looking to do? Why those cities?
Something quick about Davao - go check out Samal Island as a day trip. It only takes 15-20 minutes by ferry, and there are some nice beaches. In addition, if you are into Holdem Poker, they have tournaments every evening at the Filipino Casino in Davao. I also have a hotel I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND in a very good location, its been posted on other threads of mine. I've written about Davao and Cebu extensively in the past, so probably in the archives I am sure.
If you don't find it on your own, I'll do a search and post them here again - I can't recall the exact info right at the moment. But I have it all written down even in these forums. |

cool , thanks. samal sounds good, but not really in to poker.
as for why there? -- cebu is where the plane lands and davao because cebu pacific has a really good domestic sale on, so i just had to pick a place to book the ticket - 1998 peso return incl. taxes and fees
i'll check your earlier posts, too |

BAGOBO HOUSE HOTEL
Gov. Duterte Street
DAVAO CITY
It is a new hotel and very centrally located in Davao. You'll be right in the heart of many urban things - restaurants, etc.
Cebu and Davao are interesting to just do regular ol' stuff at a fraction of the costs. I mean eating out at restaurants, watching movies, going out, etc.
As tourist destinations, they are kinda interesting, but not a whole lot to offer. Generally the islands of the Philippines are the more interesting places. Both cities have some Taoist Temples that are listed as tourist sites. Cebu has a lookout area, (cant recall the name), where you can overlook the entire city. They both have bars and live music. They are both significantly safer in feel and taxis and everything else than Manila. |

This thread hit on a lot of on Cebu and Davao.
Screw Cebu...the cooler city is DAVAO!

It's a three-pager thread that starts in Davao. In retrospect, Cebu is probably the better city, but I really liked Davao while I was there. |
