I am about to come back to Korea but I have been waiting ages for my visa number (almost 3 weeks now). My old boss (a few years back when I was last there) was a complete heap of rubbish and hated me - could he have done/said anything about me that will slow the process down this time? I can't figure out why it is taking so long?

Any ideas. I just resigned my job here at home and have done nothing but worry all weekend........ Crying or Very sad

My guess would be that it spend some time sitting on someone's desk before it ever made it to the immigration office or that the immigration official was confused over some of your documentation (CRC perhaps?).

It usually takes 4-10 days AFTER it lands on the desk at immigration to get your visa confirmation number.

If you consider a week for shipping the documents here and getting into the hands of the recruiter. Then 1-3 days before he gets them to the school. Add a day or 3 while the director fills in the paperwork and actually gets down to the immigration office.

Well, that gets you somewhere around 3-4 weeks. Not panic time yet but I would send off an e-mail and inquire if the school balked or perhaps the recruiter had to find another school.

I worry too much at the best of times but i am concerned that my old boss said something bad about me which is causing this delay but then i may just be overly paranoid?
