yeah, first class tickets can be outrageously expensive for someone on say, a teacher's salary.
i was looking for a ticket the other day to Brazil on Emirates (via Dubai), and all that was available on the particular day i wanted to travel was first class.
the price: over $9000 US dollars!! |

Don't feel bad. Nobody in their right mind would buy a first class ticket out of their own pocket. If they travel first class, chances are their company/ diplomatic office, is footing the bill. |

I just flew from Sydney to Seoul on Asiana on a direct flight and the cost indicated on the ticket (Which I did not pay for) was just over $3000 Australian. It was booked at fairly short notice by the school (under a week) but I will still admit to suprise at the cost ... But then I can remember when I flew on the same flight just over 12 months ago that there was at the time a big difference between the cost of flying on the same flight between Qantas and Asiana (It is a code share between the two airlines in an Asiana plane) ... I think I paid around $1200 Australian at the time ... and the other fare was much more (can't remember the exact amount but it was at least $1000 more).

isn't korean airlines pricey anyway?
i just flew coach here to korea from america a few days ago. i was dreading it. i had never been on a flight that long before. i had an aisle seat, so i was able to stretch out one leg. the other leg got a little sore around the knee. truth be told, though, it wasn't bad enough to warrant paying thousands of extra dollars for first class. |
