Hey,
Aside from the dancing girls, what are some goods way to advertise for a new school? Anyone with some experience in the area? I've been thinking about using the leaflets and posting them on the nearby apartments. I've talked to some hagwon owners and they just seem to say "network" but there must be something that works here. Ideas! |

Pay me 5000 dollars Canadian and pay for my flight, ill play guitar outside your school and lure unsuspecting koreans into your school where you can do with them as you please.
Seriously though, you could try a promotion at a local mall or something. Make it interactive and exciting and get Koreans interested.
I dont know what your budget is but you could try this:
Bring in an American/Canadian/British/Australian/ETC childrens entertainer. Set up in a busy park or mall. Have fliers ready to hand out to passers by and onlookers. And just entertain people free of charge.
Do it for a week. It would probably cost 1600-2000$ for the flight. 500$/day for the entertainer 100$/night for his accomodation and a bit more for the Koreans who will be handing out fliers and setting up. Total cost probably 6000-8000$. But, if you get 50 kids lined up, it was completely worth it. You have to take risks to succeed in business. You also have to do something to seperate your company from the hundreds of other English schools in town. |

Go to the nearest subway station that has the richest people coming through in hordes. Put up a poster advertising the school. The poster should have pictures of western kids of all races, especially Asian kids. Say something on it like English is easy to learn here. Make sure the poster is easy to see. Contact the department of Transportation to see how you can legally post such an advertisement.
Post one up at the supermarket as well. Supermarkets in affluent areas especially.
Have a picture of kids in a classroom, or kids reading English books.
Seriously, it worked for my last school. Not that I enjoyed working there, but it was successful. |
