|

So my boyfriend and I got the "good news" that we passed our EPIK interview and our recruiter has requested all required documents. We're all set to go with EVERYTHING except for these medical exams that need to be signed off by a physician. I keep seeing some places (unofficially) saying we can have them done once we get there. My boyfriend has no insurance and I have a crappy plan that would still cost me $$$ to get all these things done.
My recruiter is being slow and is, well, a recruiter and having worked with them for 6 months, realize that they tend to answer in the affirmative, whether it's entirely true or not.
What have others done who've applied for EPIK? Does SMOE require pre-job medical exams? |

To get your ARC you will need to get the Health Exam done IN KOREA after you arrive. To get the E2 visa you need to complete a Self Health Check which basically is you answering on a form a series of questions. Then after you arrive you will go to one of the approved places here and get a phyical health check done. This will happen in your first 90 days (probably soon after you arrive) because you need to get your ARC (Alien Registration Card) within 90 days after you arrive. |

Congratulations on passing your EPIK interview. What that means is that you've been accepted into the pool of qualified candidates. I think they should make that clear at that time. Your next step, along with submitting all the documents of course, is for an EPIK supervisor/manager in the area you wish to work to accept you and agree to place you there. Then they will send you an official certificate of acceptance. Then you're really in. I hope it all works out for you. |
