i've been down to busan a few times, but usually to catch the ferry over to fukuoka, etc. i did the texas street thing years ago (fun but quickly tiresome), and i've also done the couplish things with my fiance. however, i haven't been able to really gage what goes on down there. i'm headed down next weekend with some buddies, all of whom are in the same boat, and would love to hear where some of you think we should land for a proper time. bnu, haeundae, seomyoen . . . what's good? lay it on me! thanks! |

PNU is only good for bar crap IMHO. Stay away.
Try Gwangan and check out the bridge, especially at night. They light it up and it's kinda nice. Nampodong has the Gookjea market, the fish market, and other nice shops which you might be of interest. |

You could get a motel on Gwangali beach. There's tons of stuff to do there if you like walking along the shops, bars, and restaurants by the beach.
The Haeundai area is my favorite place to take a weekend trip. The motels tend to fill up quickly on the weekends though, so it's good to check in earlier rather than later. You can spend anywhere from 35 to 80 depending on the day/season. The Indian restaurant called Ganga has some of the best food I've eaten in Korea. You have to get there relatively early though because they run out of the good stuff as the night goes on.
If you're looking for something to do during the daytime to get a Busan experience, I'm not really sure. If you're looking for a fun or leisurely time, then hit one of the beaches.
Just check Pusanweb.com if you want to find out some more info |
