Hi,
I know, "What grade are you in" is OK for non-uni students, but is this used for uni students anywhere? I've always used, "What year are you?"
Do countries outside of the U.S. use "grade"?
Thanks. |

| "What grade are you?" is used by children everywhere, and that is what most 1st year students are in Korea... children. They act like children.... you'll hear them screaming in the halls outside of classrooms, and they'll remind you of your middleschool they way they behave around the opposite sex, because it's really the first time for them to be close to eachother. By the fourth year, hopefully some of them will be ready to enter the world as adults. |

| Everyone around here would say "what year are you (on)?" and people normally respond back "I'm on my sophomore year" or something like that. I'm American, too, by the way. |
