I was running XP and Vista on my system and I reinstalled XP. Now I can't access Vista at all. The bootloader menu screen doesn't load so it defaults to XP every time.
I've tried using EasyBcd in XP but that doesn't work. Is there a way to manually edit the boot.ini file to add Vista to the startup options? |

I'm surprised EasyBCD doesn't do anything for you...hmm
Have you tried right clicking My computer-->Properties-->Advanced-->(Startup and Recovery) Settings
Look at "System Startup" and see if you can choose Vista. If you can, great. Choose it, click ok, and restart.
If this doesn't work, insert the windows Vista disk and it will repair it's own boot record. I forget exactly how to do it, but it was pretty easy when I had to. Google it. |

wow ... dual boot xp/vista?? that smacks of crazy!
while i am not a fan of vista, i understand that some people like it. however i don't understand is why you'd run xp and vista together. what possible benefit can that have??
i run a dual boot xp/linux distro ... which is a lot of fun. surfing and stuff, i stick with linux (safer, faster) but i switch to xp for gaming (warrock kicks a.s.s.)
i had vista on my umpc, but it was bloated and slow. i'm running a light xp on it now and it's pretty fast. i'm thinking about switching to linux, since the umpc is too small for most games anyway. |
