I have just been asked to be a meeting facilator at a company I work for. I currently just teach them business English in the morning. They have decided to have a department wide meeting everyweek in English. They want me to be the facilitor and help them with their meeting. I know some other companies do this because my students told me there were other companies doing this.
Anyway, has anyone done this type of work? If you did, what exactly does it entail. I told them I would think about it and they are supposed to get me the details later on, but I was wondering if anyone else had done this.
Thanks |

It's just another English class, except that you will spend less time on correcting and more time on ensuring that the speakers intent is understood by the listener. You may be asked to moderate or co-chair the meeting. Just like being a referee and making sure all sides are heard and understood. Spend some time taking notes about better ways to say things, how to interrupt, acknowledge differences between cultures, etc. |
