|
|
This is more of a preliminary enquiry than anything else.
We just found out that the school wont be putting air-con in our apts. We're in Daegu. I know experience that air-con is ESSENTIAL in Seoul in summer and apparently Daegu is even worse.
Either I buy it myself, or I leave Korea. Any ideas how much 2nd hand unit is likely to cost? |

What size is your apartment?
What type of air conditioner do you need?
Window air conditioners can be picked up for little or nothing. All the prices will be dependent on the age of the machine. Just stop by the second hand area in your city and take a look. I would say, maximum, you are looking at a 400,000 won investment. |

We just bought two used ones in really good shape at a second-hand store in Seoul. We paid just under 500k for a big 15-pyeong unit for the living room / kitchen, and about 250k for a 6-pyeong unit for the bedroom. Installation of both (including the labor and tubing) was another 250k, which of course you wouldn't have to pay if you got one of those in-window types. |
