Hi everyone,
I recently got a job in Seoul and finally got my visa on Wednesday leaving on Sunday. I occasionally check these forums because there is so much helpful information. I am going to Gangdong-gu and have not seen anything mentioned about it. I was wondering how the area is and what kinds of things there might be to do around there. Any info is appreciated thanks! |

Are you going to work for an EWAS institute in the Jamshil area? |

No I have a job with a school called SLP in Gangdong. I am here now, arrived on Monday night. It's been crazy but everyone so far is helpful and nice. |

That was the only hakwon I ever walked away from.
I wish you good luck. You're gonna need it. It's gonna be a long year. At least the e-mart is close.

thanks, that may have been the scariest thing i've ever read. obviously my own fault because i didn't ask anyone until whatever a day before i got here. i am in gangdong-gu now its 2008. f-ing long hours for sure...weird. i only accepted it because a friend is coming out here with me. she starts in the middle o f may at a kids club? in olympic park. so our schools are 20 minutes from each other...which is a plus? or thus i thought
so far the school itself seems fine people are great. material is provided. i guess i'll see how the first couple months are, if its hell i'll leave... |

aww don't sweat it too much before you arrive, take it one day at a time. and if it's really horrible there is always a solution, people will help you out, so don't worry.
i came here not nothing anything at all about my school... there always are surprises.... my school ended up being good, but my apartment is a s h i thole. however you'll probably love seoul and discover so many exciting things, your experience might be great, i hope! |
