Any other elementary schools having Sports Day this week? Even in my second year in my PS it astounds me that a whole week of classes needs to be cancelled so the kids can spend every day "practicing" for Sports Day. I understand learning dances and such, but really, do they need to practice the relay races and tug-o-war for 3 days consecutively? |

Yes, so I can plan my vacation and daydream about the upcoming week off. |

I went into the V.P.'s office to print something out. He asked my 'friend' there if I would join in to put up some kind of gate for tomorrow's sports day.
I said to the friend, I came downstairs only to print out some material for a lesson. He translated it to the V.P. who didn't really respond. When he asked the friend this question, he had a look on his face which suggested it would be nice if I would join in. I was civil and left the room.
To be honest, it felt terrific to know that I wouldn't participate in this. I'm trying not to laugh. (I'm giggling now) |

Wow. Another day, another example of how I got totally screwed by not being placed in elementary school! |

We had ours today. I had to announce three things in English and do the 선서/proclamation in English. Then I did a taekwondo demo with 12 sixth graders and the Kwanjangnim from a local studio (not mine).
Oh my God! If Atavistic Teacher is a movie star, then Atavistic Teacher in a Dobok must be queen of the world or something.
It was awesome, lots of fun. |

Yes, time off. But have to be in the English office. All day Thurs no classes. It's nice to watch the kids run. They RUN. The youngun's (lower elementary), some of them, don't seem to care if they win or lose and have one speed setting. |
