I was at the Irish embassy yesterday and I was told
that when Irish teachers leave Korea they can get a certificate
from the pension office in Korea to state how much pension you
have paid, backdating to when you first came to Korea.

you wont get the cash, but it will be recorded in Ireland that you have paid whatever amount and will get some benefit in Ireland from the tax system.
