I was on the subway yesterday and I saw a blind man alone on the train. He wasn't asking for money, rather - using the train like everyone else.

While most people were doing their best not to get in his way and generally avoiding him, a very sweet looking young lady approached him and asked if she could assist him. First she asked him which stop he'd be getting off at. He told her, then she offered to escort him to the proper exit. He accepted, and I watched her take him all the way up to the exit and up the stairs - then she pointed him in the right direction.

The only reason I witnessed the whole thing is because the stop is a popular and busy one, and I was going to the same exit. Just amazing to see random kindness when most people in Seoul are only interested in themselves.

Korea Kindness.

Very Happy

Honestly, for every random act of kindness - you see 21,000,000 acts of selfishness. Not just in Korea either...people just mostly suck most of the time.

I actually think for the most part, people are good human beings.....at least that's what the idealist in me says.

I used to be like you...until I rounded the "hill" - now I just frown and I think about the way things used to be....

Back in my day, we didn't have hugging. Nope, we kicked each other in the shins, and we LIKED it that way... Yep. Oh, it hurt, sure it did, but we did it and we didn't complain, we jeeessst did it. That's just the way it was. None of this newfangled hugging.

For your sad, sad joke to work he would have had to say: "She pointed to the right direction."

Actually, I would say for an agglomeration of over 22 million people crammed into a tiny lil' area, Seoul is the friendliest city in the world.

Sorry, I thought that "point" would be enough.
