Just been chatting to one of my CTs about Pohang and he was saying that I should definitely check out that part of the country.
As I've not got anything planned for the weekend after next, I thought I'd go take a look. Can anyone give me any more info, places to see/go etc. Any suggestions on reasonably priced motels etc would also be appreciated.
Thanks in advance. |

| If you've got a car, drive down the coast highway at least as far as Kam-po. It's a beautiful drive and you can take a boat ride out to the rocks where King Moon-moo (I think) is buried--he wanted to become a dragon and protect the country. That plan didn't work out so well, but it's a nice area. |

It's a nice area for the scenery in the outlying areas--especially along the shore as mentioned above. The main industry in the area is POSCO (Pohang Steel).
If you travel forty minutes by car into Kyongju (Gyeongju), there is a lot more to see and do, although it is still small-town Korea. |
