From what I've heard it is:

1.8 Million Base
+.2 per year of experience until you reach 2.5 Million. Then it goes up by .1 per year.

May question is, how much more does a TEFL or TESOL or CELTA give you per month?

Lets say you are on your 2nd year of teaching, you have a TEFL, what would your SMOE salary be?

Last year it was .2 extra for having a tesl cert. I'm sure it's the same this year.

I tried to check for ya but my school blocked that site lol. I think you'd be at 2.3 with all that though...not entirely sure ;p

From what I know, 2.3 is a bit high if you only have a 4 year degree and a TEFL. OP, do you have experience beyond that? You should have an agreed upon amount in your contract. If you can find the SMOE payscale (website is not working at all, it's not just blocked), and you aren't making the right amount, SMOE will bump you up to the appropriate level.

Well it's 2.0 with a tefl and 4 year degree. I think since he has 2 years experience it moves him up to 2.3. I don't recall exactly though. I think you top out at 2.4 without a masters.

kinda except not really. i think u'd really only b able to negotiate if they happened to be under pressure over filling all the positions they need to (this wd be a rare occasion i'd imagine) and/or u really wow them in the interview.

It's not. You get whatever pay the pay scale dictates. A returning teacher might be able to negotiate 100,000 won more if special circumstances arise (like claiming time in a training position in Canada could qualify as a year of "teaching"), but usually you are stuck with the pay scale.

Does hogwan experience count as official experience with SMOE? I did a year at a hogwan and have a Celta, so I should be at about 2.2 mil if the hogwan time counts, right?

Also, am I correct in assuming that they won't care about a higher pass level for the Celta?

If I have time today, I'll post the SMOE payscale. I can't find it online, but I have a paper copy.

If that's for me, thanks but I have the pay scale. I'm just wondering what they consider experience in an accredited school, if that included hogwans.

Sure they would. On my resume, I included my hogwan year along with my other teaching experience towards the total of years in the teaching business. No worries.

Dean Burrito, where did you find information for Level S? The recent copy of the scale ends at Level A at 2.7 a month. I know a person who was at 2.7 and when re-signing, SMOE refused to go above that amount.
