I want to buy a new digital camera, but I want a specific model. I've looked around and Amazon seems to have the best price.
My question is, if I get someone from home to ship it to me, will it make it or get stuck at customs and will I have to pay duties on it?
I've already had a package get caught by customs (I'm assuming) so I certainly don't want an expensive camera to as well.
Thanks! |

Make sure they take it out of the box and ship the manuals to you via separate mail or express mail. Take all the original wrappings off the camera and its parts. You will pay customs if it is new. Have them mark used on the mailing slip. They can bubble wrap it for protection. (Take off the little wire things that hold cords together, too.) |

Yes, as the poster above said, have your mom re-pack it and mark the box as personal property. |
