I work in a public school in Gyongsangnamdo
When I signed my contract they said they would pay round trip.
Now that I am renewing the contract a 2nd year, they said that I must prepay the round trip ticket and they will reimburse me when I get back
The problem is that they never paid the 2nd half of the first ticket for me to get to Korea.
Now that I live in Korea, they say they are only reimbursing one way, which the contract states, but when I signed the original contract I was not living in Korea..
So I get no reimbursement of the 2nd half of the first round trip ticket and I only get reimbursed for one way to come back to Korea?
Whats wrong with this picture?? |

They are trying to screw you out of your 2nd half of the first round trip ticket. They are obligated to pay that under the contract and your one way airfare back to Korea since you re-signed. Don't take no for an answer. |

The school should pay for it. The problem lies in them worrying you might simply stay home instead of returning. If you are on good terms, maybe going 50/50 would be the best solution. I did this with my previous school and it works out in my opinion. Neither party feels they are putting up 100% and helps establish a better working relationship.
They should then reimburse you for the other half of the airfare as soon as you return. If you don't have a receipt, can't you just call the travel agent up or show a bank statement with the amount taken out? |
