Opening night of the Mumbai grill in Sunae...next door to my building so I had great expectations...walked in and there were no Indians cooking, only Koreans...I instantly thought UH OH but I let it go hoping for the best...started with samosas which werent too bad but obviously defrosted and cooked but better than the normal Korean shit around here...my wife is a vegetarian so she ordered the vege vindaloo and I oredred Lamb Madras...They brought her the beef vindaloo and took it bak to change it...meanwhile I ate my Curry and the lamb was nice and although my brain refused to allow the possibility, I was a little overwhelmed by gochu Jang, anyway I enjoyed the meat and went about my NAAn dipping, the naan was ok but not fantastic...then the clincher, the vege vindaloo arrived and it was tomato sauce and gochu Jang, so foul, it was left uneaten and I could eat anything...with two kingfisher beers the bill was 70000...unless you have the palate of a Korean...dont bother |

Thanks for the warning! I was going to go this weekend, because I'm desperate for some vege food I didn't cook myself, but not for that kind of money.
Also, I think we're neighbors. |

I went to Ganga today. Great selection of food, good atmosphere and vegetarian options. Also, it tastes great!
Ganga is about a three blocks from Seohyeon station for all those interested. Go to the end of the Samsung Plaza street (on the Crispy Creme Donut's side), make a left before you reach the last building on the street and you'll see it. |

You don't have to be Indian to make good Indian food, or Korean to make good Korean food, or Mexican to make good Mexican food, etc, etc, etc...I have made great samosas, kimchi and enchiladas. I mean come on, folks. Some Koreans can't make Korean food, and some Americans can't make potato salad. I hate stupid stereotypes. Maybe the Koreans running this Indian place just can't cook. Haven't you ever eaten at a crappy American place in the states before? One thing I noticed in Japan, though, is that the Japanese get all foods right, except Korean food. It's not so good there. |

My girlfriend n i are personal friends with the owner of tahli. He went to india n hand picked his chefs twice (the first lot didn't work out). He also always gives us free food, and drinks. really nice guy.
If you are a veggie....try their spinach n goat cheese curry or the dall. You won't be disappointed.
I have been to ganga n i found it to have a nice atmosphere but the food not as good.
super disappointed about the new indian place...blah!
PS we are neighbors as well |

you are right princess it comes down to the cook!
but when you go out for dinner its not just about food . its about atmosphere. also when you eat in an ethnic restaurant you prefer to see ethnic people it just ads to the charm!
if there were two Kimchi jegae restaurants in USA next to each other
one called MR SMITHS korean Kimchi restaurant owned by anglo saxon americans from Nebraska! or next door you have MR KIMS korean restaurant owned and run by koreans which one will you chose for an ethnic night out?
now sure MR SMITH might be a trained skilled chef and trained in korea
but I doubt he will use ketchup instead of gochujang!
and by the sounds of the OP the koreans dont know about INDIAN food if they are using gochu jang for their vindaloo curry!
Im sure in INdia there are many restaurants which serve crap!
but if you are gonna spend over 100.000 dollars and open an ethnic restaurant in Bundang atleast know how to cook the food!
if the chefs were indian and the food wasnt that good, you still get the ambiance of feeling like you are in india.. |

I just arrived in Bundang, and that Thali place rocks. If any of the other places are better, than I will be a happy camper.
I keep noticing this Vietnamese chain in Bundang. I forgot the name, but I've seen at least three. Pho something-or-other. Is that place any good? |

Pho-Mein?
I get the Pho places here confused. There's a good one in Miguem in the Outback building that does decent Pho, and another one at Seohyun. I think it's a chain. The one by Home Ever at Ori station isn't that great. None of these Pho places I've found have ever been even remotely close to actual Saigon Pho, but they do the trick if you're feeling sick...especially with tons of hot pepper and plum sauce. |
