I remember reading somewhere that the drug screening is no longer required during the medical check up.

However, why are schools still demanding it, if immigration said it is not necessary?

Does anyone know the final word on it?

Marijauna is off the list, but there's still a drug test.

The school is probably testing for drugs just to make sure people aren't abusing drugs. Mine was quite simple, with me peeing into a cup, however, the doctor also didn't tell me I had to pee onto a stick as well. The funny thing was, the doctor put my stick in with a couple of other people's sticks. Cross-contamination?

My doctor gave me and another teacher a hearing test, x-ray, vision test, and even a color blindness test! The most interesting thing here is that if you are sick you can see a doctor within minutes of coming through the door (really), the visit costs only about $8 (drug/STDs are $50-100), pharmacies can fill subscriptions in less than 5 minutes (again, really), and the medicine costs only $12. Granted, some of their practices are unconventional, but in comparison to how expensive and time consuming things are in the U.S. it is much better.

The main thing that they are looking for are STDs, particularly HIV/AIDS. Unless you have been smoking the wacky-teebacky or powdering your nose, you should be okay.
