Went to a restaurant in Itaewon. Some Spanish restaurant across from club Scrooge.
Food: small portions and extremely over priced and not that interesting. Since when the F did a burrito cost 18,000 won? And the menu said something like it costing 12000. Yeah, I am the dumbass who went there in the first place so shoot me. Then there is some kind of 10% service charge. My ass.
Owner was rude and had his head shoved up his ass somewhere past his small intestine.
"Sorry, we don't have fruit juice anymore today."
Okay, I'll have a Hoegaarden.
"We're all out of Hogaarden as well."
When it was time for me to leave I asked him if I could pay my end of the bill. "No, you have to wait until the meal is over. The bill must be paid in full."
Dude, I am leaving now. I can't wait until they leave.
(Extremely frustrated I can not be assed sighhhh....) "Then give the money to your friends and go."
Okay man, thanks. By the way, you have change for a manwon?
"No I do not. Please go."
I fucking hate Itaewon. I really do. I sincerely mean it. Taco Chili Chili serves better burritos and the owner is a genuine guy. |

You're right, it really is full of scum of the earth arseholes. There is definitely a culture of violence among a large portion of young men that frequent Itaewon establishments. Experienced it firsthand - more than once. |

Yeah. I met this one white guy, I think he was canadian. It was his bachelor party or some such and he got into an argument with a gecko's staff member at 9 or 10 AM after drinking all night.
Anyway, the poor canuck punches the waitstaff for no apparent reason! This caused the entire bachelor party crew to have to leave and find refuge elsewhere. And, one of the canadian f u cker's mate's had just ordered some fries.
Talk aboot an arse. Freaking itaewon guys....
then there was this irish kid who was feeling up the hugest arse of an itaewon *beep* that I've ever seen... (while drunk) I mean, this korean ass was HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!! like a *black woman, if you know what I mean* |

Of course, but I can't be bothered. You know full well the typical tough-guy antics drunken shytheads engage in. Don't play dumb. |

I wasn't playing dumb, I just wanted to hear one or two stories of what goes on down there. It sounds like you're saying it's in the clubs, when you get a bunch of young guys with too much alcohol in them. That would apply to any bar though. |

Granted, it's a bit of a Senor Frogs kind of atmosphere, but where else can one find decent falafel/shwarma? Besides that guy outside of gogo's in Hongdae at 4 am. Love me some Lebanese food. |

Why always with the hostility? You ordered the burrito fully aware of much it cost. Also, Hogaarten isn't even on the menu so there's no need to get pisst that they didn't have it. Paying the bill when the party leaves is also common-place the world over and not a big deal at all. I also thought that the service was excellent. That french girl was very pleasant.
I don't usually like to get involved in petty, little threads like these ones but I thought that the OP was 'well off the mark'.
Just thought I'd share. |

You ordered an over-priced burrito and that makes all of Itaewon shit? That's great logic... Most racists have the same logic.
I had a great burrito in Itaewon last weekend for about 5000 won. |

Hogaarden was on the menu. Your friend ordered it as well as me. The guy behind the counter was rude as *beep* to me, more than once. You guys didn't see it thought because you were sitting outside when I was trying to settle my end of the bill. All I did was ask him if I could pay my share of the bill and he was a dick. A fucking dick, like a lot of people who work in Itaewon, which leads me to conclude that I will not be spending my days in Seoul there. I paid it, didn't complain, didn't argue with the man, but I will not be going back to that place or any other over priced shit hole in Itaewon. Fact. Itaewon sucks. The people suck, the product is shit, and the food has given me a headache and my stomach is all ripped up because of it.
And thanks for addressing me on here by my first name. Good one. Thanks. Really. Knew I could count on you for that. |

I just wanted to give another side to the story because I was there and thought that your critique wasn't accurate. The guy hardly speaks a lick of english, so I fail to see how he was so rude to you. Hogaarden isn't on the menu. My friend actually wanted 'Heiniken' which you heard as 'Hogaarden' and proceeded to order another.
First names. Who cares? |

Wow, I lived in the Itaewon area for a year, and have to say you're full of crap. Sorry. I mean, of course, don't go there at night unless you're fine with a sketchy time, but in the day you've got: good to great food. Decent people watching. Rooftop pool in the summer. |
