You go to the gyno and you ask for a prescription. Then you go to the pharmacy and you get the pill.

Gynaecologist in Korean is
san-bu in-gwa(gynaecology) eui-sa(doctor)

even though im-san-bu means pregnant, I just asked my wife and she said that women wanting to see a gynaecologist but who aren't interested in pregnancy still see this doctor, so I must assume it really is not just a pregnancy clinic, but a gynaecologist. Good luck

Shit, I think I need to have a morning after pill handy for the girl that i've been seeing. The other night, we were er...and she wouldn't get off even after I gave her the signal (if you get my drift)...and i was like wtf? I literally had to force her off of me. Hell, I'm not ready to be a daddy...

So if a guy were to go to a doctor and ask for a morning after pill, would they give it to me?

If you already have your hands on some birth control, here's a chart of morning after pill doses from this link below

Any risk of disease in this situation?

I meant venereal disease, and I was going to caution the op to go get checked and keep on checking for the next three months at the very least if she does not know her partner is disease free. I think it can take three months for HIV to show up in your system. Also, if she is extremely high risk (as in knows for a certain fact she slept with someone with HIV) there is a flush you can take, but that is a pretty unlikely cenario.

Do you realize you are in a country where men don't use condoms? A baby is the least of your concerns. If you end up with HIV you get a plane ticket home, a Korean gets free health care for the rest of their life.

Yeah, I know a lot of Korean guys don't use condoms. Not saying it's smart, just the facts, man.

But just curious...how prevalent is HIV in Korea? Anyone know the stats?

This was all I could find...

This information is correct and reliable, it comes from Princeton University. Here is a link to the Princeton site, it has more info and is more up to date. It lists the doses for 12 more brands of birth control pills.

That site also says, "On August 24, 2006, the FDA approved Plan B for nonprescription sale to women and men 18 and older."

Seriously, it was approved for men? Since when can men get pregnant?

Having HIV in Korea comes with a huge stigma as you can imagine. Most people therefore would not be in any hurry to get tested for it until symptoms appear. The next epidemic of HIV is predicted to take place in Asia in the next decade or so. I am sure that at this time the numbers being reported are nowhere near accurate. Many English instructors come here thinking Korea is safer than the west due to the way it is isolated. I think they couldnt be more wrong. I am not lecturing anyone. I just want people that come here to be aware of the potential reality they are facing and to return home the way they came. There are many things in Korea that are not the way they seem or the way they are presented when reality comes to light. I for one believe the rate of HIV infection is one of these things. Enjoy your lifebut do it wisely.
